I am so honored to be a part of the Chickasaw traveling art exhibition, Visual Voices. This has been a project years in the making. A team of talented Chickasaw artists began working with a desire to bring attention to Chickasaw artwork. They worked together to create the vision for this incredible project. They developed the theme and the logo, created a list of artists to include and presented the project to the head of the Chickasaw Nation, Governor Bill Annoatubby and brought in experts in curation, museum consultation and created a world class art exhibition.
The first stop on the tour will be in Norman, Oklahoma, my hometown, at The Fred Jones Museum of Art. It will then travel to the Mississippi Museum of art, The IAIA Museum of Native American Art in Santa Fe and then onto The Briscoe Western Art Museum in San Antonio. If you have the chance to visit one of the esteemed venues I can assure you that it will not disappoint.
